Chapter One

but people will never forget how you made them feel." - Maya Angelou.
The sun's rays streamed through my window,
waking me from a peaceful sleep. I found a cup of coffee waiting for me. After
finishing my morning chores, I headed to The Gyeltshen’s Gym for my usual
workout. Typically, I exercise for over an hour, but today my body didn’t
cooperate. Feeling dizzy, I decided to head straight home.
It was unusual—I’d never experienced this
during a workout before. On a normal day, I’d walk from the gym to my house,
but today I opted for a taxi. It only took about fifteen minutes to reach home.
“Ding Dong,” I knocked on the door.
“Coming,” a soft voice replied from inside.
There she was, her hair cascading down to
the end of her spine, her eyes capturing the twinkling moments of nature. Her
smile and gentle words had a way of breaking the monotony of any day. This was
my wonderful lifeline, Kinley Lhaden.
I call her Lhaden because it sounds sweet
to me. She opened the door and hugged me, as was our routine.
“Are you done with your workout?” she
asked.
“I’m not feeling well today,” I replied.
“Oh, what happened? Do you need my help?
Have some rest; I’ll bring you a cup of tea,” she said, heading to the kitchen.
While she prepared tea, I changed into more
comfortable clothes. A few minutes later, she brought tea to the bedroom and
asked if I would listen to her latest poem. Despite her busy schedule as a bank
manager, she always found time for her passion for poetry. I supported her
wholeheartedly, and listening to her poems had become a cherished nightly
ritual.
This time, she titled her poem “Flower
of My Heart.”
I saw a flower,
Which is part of me.
It opened my heart,
And brought true love to me.
Without this precious flower,
I hold it in my heart.
So that now and forever more,
We shall surely never be apart.
After you fetched up in my world,
Turbulence was removed,
Melancholy feelings were erased,
You gave me a winsome soul.
That shines in my life,
And you are the circle ball of mine.
Love can be magic, but magic can be just an
illusion.
This is a unique poem on how love
transforms life, presented with the flower metaphor. It shows how amazing this
emotion of love can be and that it can create magic in any moment of your life.
Her poem took me to the Botanical Garden, where we used to have fun. The lines were wonderful; this is my favourite poem from her. She became the flower of my heart, and we tied the knot forever.
